My family LOVED staying in this stately old home! The kitchen was nice an modern but the rest of the house retained its original charm and elegance. With five bedrooms in two floors, we had more than enough room. The location was not too far out of the way and we saved a ton of money by not having to stay in downtown Boston. Driving in Boston can be a little crazy, but you figure it out after a while. Thanks for letting us stay in your home. We had a wonderful experience!

I found Swank Management personnel helpful and responsive. The house is in the suburbs on a hill. Being from CA we did not have proper shoes for walking on the wet, slippery sidewalks to a grocery several blocks away. Best to comw with a car. The heat was inconsistent from room to room. Beds were comfortable and there were ample towels.

Overall the residence did what it needed to do. Just a couple of small things-,The small bedroom had no bed dressing- blankets, sheets? The door handle on that same room was broken when we got there. I know we caught a an extremely warm week, but the down stairs was quite warm do to no a/c downstairs. But that was about it- there was plenty of room and we enjoyed the space a lot!!

We stayed at this home with 6 ppl (3 adults, 3 kids ages 8-10) and enjoyed our stay very much. Good location in a quiet neighborhood. T stop at Savin Hill is walkable, though the distance made us opt for Uber most of the time.
Spacious home with lots of nooks and crannies and thoughtful touches and very nice for the whole family. Swing set in the backyard. Some smaller instances of water damage on the ceilings.
Very responsive management company.
We would happily come back.

The house is beautiful and we had the first and second floors. It was comfortable and had plenty of room. Issues: air conditioners in the bedrooms only. Windows could be opened but most didn't have screens. Two cabinet doors literally fell off each time you tried to open them. Water damage, wall paper damage, broken pocket doors to one bedroom, spout issues in the upstairs bathroom. Having said all that, most of those issues didn't take away from our time there, except for the tub spout, door and cabinets. Perfect location and fairly quick response to a power loss issue we had. Parking was never an issue and really, it was something special to be in this home. Rooms are larger than they seem in the photos and are fantastic sleeping.

The rental was very convenient for us. We found it best to get around using the subway and the Savin Hill stop was convenient. Our group enjoyed the walking required to get to and from the stop and the system is very easy to navigate. The location also worked well for us to spend a day in Cape Cod - easy drive that avoids the traffic of the city. The rental was what we expected - clean, roomy, and comfortable.

The four queen bedrooms and one single was perfect for the seven of us. Plenty of room to sit and visit, play cards, and generally just hang out and visit. 1/2 mile walk to the subway train, but downhill all the way! (That does come with an "uphill all the way home, however!") one down-side is there are room air conditioners in the bedrooms, but none in the living/dining/kitchen areas. Lucky for us the weather turned cool on our second day there!

Grand View on Jones Hill was a perfect fit for our family vacation. The property was as advertised, well maintained and very clean. We enjoyed our stay at the Grand View on Jones Hill. We used it as the center of a wheel that ran spokes out as we traveled to all 6 states in New England. The Grand View Home on Jones Hill is within walking distance of the T line so it wasn't necessary to drive in Boston traffic. There is off the street parking which is a plus. The home was clean and provided adequate amenities, including nice laundry facilities, for an away from home stay. The management group was easy to contact and responded quickly. Our security deposit was refunded within two weeks of our stay. There is a view and wildlife, turkeys foraging in the yard.

My family stayed in this house for 6 days. The house was in great condition and was very ready for us. The beds were fairly hard, and the carpet in the dining room was treacherous, as we slipped on it every time we walked on it. I would recommend the owners remove it, in fact. The kitchen wasn't as well-stocked as other vacation rentals we've stayed in, but it was fine. The location was fine. I would recommend driving to the subway station and then using the subway for city travels. The walk isn't far, but the location of the home is up a hill and feels a little sketchy at night. Property was very clean. Property description was accurate. We slept 7 very comfortably and could sleep more if necessary. Amenities of wi-fi, washer/dryer, dishwasher were nice. For the most part, we definitely enjoyed this house.

This home is very spacious and attractive. If you enjoy old homes, this will be a great experience.
If you don't walk often, use one of Boston's car services. The T station is a few blocks away.

We had a great family week in Boston staying at the Grand View on Jones Hill - a Swank Properties rental unit - lots of room, very comfortable house in a great neighborhood close to everything we needed - the house was as described - the pictures are accurate - as short walk to Savin Hill metro station and local restaurants and businesses, but also easy to get around with a rent car - we discovered on the second day that you can park at the station for like $5 a day making the trip to and from the train even more convenient - landed at Logan at 3pm, waited for baggage, rented a car drove to the house, checked in with the mobile app, dropped off the luggage, caught the train and were at Fenway for a game by 5pm

I highly recommend Swank Properties if you are ever in need of a rental in Boston - and Grand View would be a great location to use for home base

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand View house. My husband and I brought our five children and our son-in-law to Boston for the week, making a total of eight of us. The house was spacious and absolutely beautiful, with views from of the harbor and city. So here's the downside: there is a rental above Grand View that, when occupied is quite noisy. We had a group of 5 men above us for 5 nights who kept unusual hours. We could hear every footstep and a lot of their conversations. The other downside is that the rental was not stocked for a party of 8 staying for 6 nights. We probably called Swank every day to ask for: trash bags, toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels, etc. The property manager lived next door and always brought what we needed very promptly. All of that aside we loved staying and would recommend this rental.

Staying in this property was a wonderful experience, from the moment we opened the front door and wandered through spacious rooms with over stuffed furniture and warm wood throughout.
The bedrooms were huge and the beds were comfortable. We heard nothing from the outside, once we were inside with the front door closed. It was nice to have it be so quiet, we slept like babies.
It was very close to the T, we ate breakfast and dinner out one day within walking distance and the food was superb.
The home is in a nice neighborhood, everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
I loved all of the little touches, from maps to books and magazines. Loved the Red Sox schedule on the fridge!

Grand View on Jones Hill was just as described. A beautiful home with wood floors throughout and very spacious.   Thank you for staying with us! Just so other readers are clear, this unit is located centrally within the City of Boston. But when referring to the historic or financial district, it is a 10-15 minute subway ride to the center of the city. We love managing this unit as large groups can stay at an incredibly affordable price and enjoy staying in a Victorian Mansion. The equivalent in the historic or financial district would be over $1000/night, which is unaffordable to the 99% of our visitors. So although this unit is a 10-15 minute subway ride to the center, this is a great option for those that want to save some of their travel budget for things other than their accommodations.

We wanted a place the whole family and some friends could relax in and when the festivities ended enough space for the family to sleep comfortably. We spent last year in a cramped apartment in Fenway and we loved the access to bars and restaurants but need more space and really just wanted to spend time with each other (we all live in separate cities and travel for work so bars and eating out at restaurants is old news).

This was the perfect place!

- The kitchen had plenty of plates, glasses and quality pots and pans for all our cooking needs.
- The dining room came in handy when ten extra people showed up for dinner.
- The living room had enough seating for nursing a hangover while watching the Preakness.
- The neighborhood is nice and anything we forgot to purchase was a quick five minute drive to Shaw's grocery or the Rite Aid at the bottom of the hill. The neighborhood is quite and the neighbors were very nice. Add in the parking for two cars and we really enjoyed our stay.

This property was perfect for us, 4 adults acting as tourists in Boston! We loved the spacious rooms. Everything was spotless. The beds were very comfortable with memory foam tops on the mattresses. Off-street parking was a major convenience for us as we drove to Boston in a big pickup truck (parking is a problem everywhere in Boston.) Gorgeous house. We didn't stay long enough to fully appreciate all it has to offer. Amazing kitchen!!! Great that it has two bathrooms. A/C units in the bedrooms helped for great nights sleep. It was warm when we stayed but all those beautiful windows allowed the air to flow right through in the downstairs areas. This house kept all its old beautiful features, but has been updated to make any stay very comfortable. We absolutely loved it. Only complaint was that the internet didn't work very well, we ended up disabling our Wi-Fi on our phones because it was so slow! And the address of the house should be made plainer, we were actually searching for the address I had of the rental office. It wasn't until the code for the key box was sent to me that we realized we were looking for the wrong address. Otherwise, great house!!

This house is a true find for families. We had 5 adults and one infant staying for an extended weekend. The furnishings and interior architecture are lovely. The beds are very comfortable. More space than you need throughout the house. Great appliances in the kitchen. We stayed on one of the hottest weekends Boston has ever had and we learned to keep the whole house adequately cool using the bedroom air conditioners and closing the downstairs drapes and blinds. Having the washer and dryer was very convenient. Two full baths was very convenient. Close to restaurants, stores, the metro. Felt very safe walking in this quiet neighborhood. The house is on a hill, but this was not a problem for our group, even with the heat. Management was easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home, clean and easy to check in and out. I would recommend a bender machine with shampoo,soap and water, or just supplied it and charge for it. Overall, beautiful!

We had a great stay in Boston and the property we stayed in was absolutely lovely. Lots of space for all of us. The appartment was huge! My only criticism is that when we did try and contact Swank properties with a quick question about the wifi connection we were put through to their answering service ( it was the weekend) and no one frim the company rang back. Hope they wouldnt behave like this if you had a significant problem. Also would have liked a kettle! Otherwise great place to stay. Try ice cream from Savin scoop on the way from the station.

Great accommodation in a beautiful and architecturally interesting house only 5 train stations from downtown Boston was perfect for our family vacation. We bought a 7 day train ticket which allowed us to hop on & off the metro T will. Management/owner graciously accommodated our need to check in earlier. Me and 3 of my friends were in Boston for 2 weeks for work. The house was the best part of our stay. There are 3 bedrooms, plus a nursery, so we each had our own room, and there is TONS of space in the house, so we could stay out of each other's way. The only downside is that you have to walk up a fairly large hill (as evidenced in the title of the property) to get home from the T- stop --this was highly annoying at 11 pm when we were getting home from work.

The property served its purpose for us--a family of 4 (2 teenage daughters). It was comfortable, clean and gave us the "space" that a normal hotel room could not. The location from downtown was okay, and the Red Line T station was less than a 10 minute walk away. The only "negative" was the walk back at night from the T station to the property--it was a bit "sketchy" walking through the surrounding neighborhood in the dark. All-in-all, the experience was good, especially not having to park or pay for parking in downtown Boston!

It was an amazing place. Huge and beautiful and nice quiet location but close to the T and buses to get downtown. Would definitely stay there again. Only downside is there are only window AC units in some of the upstairs bedrooms, so remainder of house can get hot in the summer.

The Jones hill property was beautiful and very close to the train station making it easy to hop into downtown Boston. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. The house would easily accommodate 6 adults and I would recommend it to anyone.
