It was hot when we arrived. Cooled down quickly once we opened the windows. Some fans would be nice too. Porch was nice to have. And roof top view of sunset was amazing! Close to shopping and restaurant too. Would definitely stay again.

We were a family of 3 adults and spent 10 days at this location. Overall, the apartment is very nice and welcoming. Checking in and out was very easy and the app is very convenient.
Since we like cooking our own food, the found that the kitchen had the bare minimum. One of the bedroom, has no window, if the door connecting it with the master bedroom is closed. Since the apartment is on the top floor, there are a few flights of stair to climb. We had no problem with that, but thought that some guests may want to know.

We stayed at this location as the price was right for Boston. Husband , friend and I stayed here for 4 days. It was very clean, and had the basic stuff we would need. Only thing they could do better is a room darking blinds/ccurtain as it has an old school shade, and didn't make the room dark. Wish they had a smart TV for online streaming such as Netflix or other vidoes on demand.. (Not many watch live TV anymore). Wifi was very slow tho. Love the App to use to control the lock, and temp. Also, plenty of info there as well on the app.

We loved this property! When we first entered the penthouse we were surprised how big it was. This is a great location for a couples get away. The balcony and roof top were perfect to watch the sunset and see the clouds roll through the city.

Charming apartment, with good amenities. Just as described. Its on the 4th floor, so stairs may be difficult for some. But balcony with grill is nice. A busy street, so a little noisy, but close to subways, coffee shop, restaurants, grocery. Property well maintained. Had a little difficulty getting internet connections, but property management was very responsive to emails. Loved the 224 Boston St restaurant next door, and the Dorchester Brewing around the corner. They have a caterer/food trucks each night to get dinner along with craft beers. It looks to be in a neighborhood being regenerated. Felt safe walking to the JFK/Umass subway station (13 mins). Only 3 stops from the major subway hub downtown. Would definitely recommend and visit here again.

Two points to regret : you definitely need a car to go downtown + a bit noisy (air-con in evenings from the nearby restaurant + early awakening because of the traffic). This is however quite acceptable.

And yes, the fan from the lovely restaurant is a bit noisy when out on the terrace, but it is not heard from inside the unit. Glad you stayed and please come again!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay this past week. This property was very charming and met all of our needs. The kitchen was properly equipped and we had every thing we needed. The view from the deck was stunning, especially at sunset. The location was an easy walking distance to the JFK/Mass train station and we were able to easily visit the city and enjoy all of the sites that we came to see. This neighborhood is bustling and busy but the noise and traffic were never a problem. We felt very safe and we never worried about walking around or our vehicle being parked on the street. We would happily book another stay here if we should ever be in this area again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Penthouse at Upham's Corner. It was so nice to have the extra room that the apartment gave us, as opposed to a hotel room. The apartment was very clean and has a nice layout. The living and dining rooms have many windows each and the balcony is roomy. The restaurant next door was excellent and there is a Dunkin Donuts a mere 3 minute walk away. We felt very safe in this location. The nearest subway entrance was a little further away than we expected...about a 15-20 minute walk, but we didn't mind. If we can make our way back to Boston, we would definitely consider staying here again or at another Swank property. They have earned my trust after this pleasant experience.

The apartment was ideal for a family (2 adults and 2 children) visit to Boston. It was furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. The apartment was exactly as depicted on the website. The arrangements to collect the keys worked well - using the instructions sent to the iPhone/iPod app. Without an iPhone/iPod it may not have been so simple. Access to Boston is really convenient. The "T" (subway) Red line at JFK/UMASS is just a 10 minute walk away, with a trip time of about 10 minutes to the centre of Boston. Supermarkets are just a 10 minute walk from the apartment. There was ample free car parking on the street outside the apartment - but take care to read the notices regarding restricted times for road cleaning etc. We nearly fell foul of a roadworks crew who put temporary restrictions in place, which nearly resulted in our rented car being towed. Overall, the apartment worked out really well and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Overall this was a great rental. The apartment was clean and comfortable. It's in easy driving distance of most things you want to see and I paid a little less than most hotel rooms in the city.

I was traveling w/ small children and a senior so a few things to consider: The stairs are quite steep. My kids could easily go up, my mom struggled. Going down was fairly nerve wracking whether carrying the youngest or letting her climb.

The stairs open directly into the living room of the penthouse and my youngest is newly out of her crib. The I wish I had brought a baby gate for the door of her room. Instead I slept on the couch in case she got out of bed in the night.

The apartment isn't stocked with hotel and kitchen basics. Make sure you've got soaps and shampoos. Also pack in coffee grinds, salt, and pepper if you're going to use the kitchen.

Great location for some sightseeing and attending the PAX east gaming convention. Easy walk to the T, restaurant right next door for the first night when we had no idea where to go, great view of the city.

Only downside was really dark main bedroom, the lighting made no difference to the darkness!

My family came in from out of town to run in the marathon, so we got this place for them to stay. It was very nice, newly renovated, top unit, beautiful view, fun balcony. The walk from Andrew sta is better than from JFK/Umass, more scenic, less cars. There was one snafu in that we arrived before it was cleaned so there were no clean sheets the first night, luckily i live in the area and just brought my own. The management promptly took care of it the next morning and offered a refund for the first night, so we were satisfied with the result! I'd have people stay again. It was close to the T and the highway, and easy to park on the street.

We visited Boston for a long weekend. The apartment was exactly as described, very clean and had everything we needed. It is just a few short blocks from the subway, down the street from Dunkin Donuts, and next door to an awesome restaurant, 224 Boston. Try their lobster mac and cheese! After long days walking the Freedom Trail, it was great to come home to the apartment and relax. Only a few things to consider-we weren't used to road noise-and there are lots of stairs(to be expected in the penthouse). Don't let these deter you from renting. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would rent this apartment again!

Found this to be very convenient to the MBTA. You can either can one of the two busses (#16 or #17) that pass right in front or walk the several blocks down Boston St. to Andrew Sta. and catch the red line into downtown or wherever you need to go. You are in the city so it will be noisy and you will be on the edge of some, um diverse (Andrew Square is in an old Polish part of town and up Columbia/Mass Ave has some Caribbean shops), but not unsafe, neighborhoods, but go up the side streets behind the building and the houses are real nice. That's Boston for you. Plus the building is between a Dunkin Donuts (a Boston must) and an small upscale restaurant (224 Boston), so that can't be beat. Penthouse view of the city is great, too.
