We enjoyed visiting Boston and the Freedom Trail by staying just south of downtown in this restored 4 story home. The wood floors were gorgeous and not super creaky. The best thing was that for 4 of us, we each had a bedroom and my daughter used the living area couch. There was a large sectional in the front - not what was shown in the photo. The kitchen was adequate and we used it to make breakfast each day. We used Uber successfully to and from downtown - ~$15 each way. The 10 min walk to the subway was too much for my elderly mother. We did have a few minor maintenance issues that were quickly resolved by talking to someone at Swank. The neighborhood to the immediate south of the property wasn't the greatest, but it was OK to the north. Parking was free, but a bit hard to find. We used the side street a lot. Everyone slept well, despite the road noise - we brought small fans for each room. Caution - one of the beds has a super firm foam mattress! I thought I wouldn't like it, but ended up sleeping well on it.

A good choice for us - worked dry well with our family’s coming and going style. Street parking worked well, too - except for a ticket on our daughter’s rental car for inadvertently parking in a bus stop one day, and getting our personal car keyed the night prior to leaving.

This property was well appointed with 3 bedrooms (queen size or larger beds). It had only one bathroom but it was nice and it was not a problem for my siblings and I to share. There were four of us and we enjoyed our stay. It was not far from the North End of Boston and it was an easy Uber ride there every day. The price was amazing. There is a great bar and restaurant next door. A brewery around the corner. A 7 eleven it two blocks it was conveniently located and it was in a safe neighborhood.

This property was exactly as described. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There are a couple of electric outlets that did not work in 2 of the bedrooms. Boston Street is a very busy one with a lot of road noise. There was a portable fan in my room that I used at night for "white noise". Parking was an issue since the surrounding streets have permit only signs posted.

  Just a tip: If an outlet doesn't seem to work in a bedroom, flip the switch that is not the overhead light. Those plugs are on the switch at the door so you can turn on a table lamp from the door without having to turn on the overhead. Another tip: Surrounding streets are "Resident Sticker Only" Mon-Fri from 10am to 2pm. If you are away during those four hours, you can park there the other 20 hrs during the day. If not, park right on Boston Street where parking is not restricted at all. JKust watch for street cleaning days/times. Cleaning is a couple hours twice a month.

Overall we enjoyed our time here. We felt safe and comfortable in our neighborhood and found people friendly, but a few blocks away was a bit more concerning. We loved that the bus stopped close to the house, the 17 takes you to Andrew transit center where you could go or get connections to almost anywhere you wanted or needed to go.

One of my biggest complaints is the chairs in the kitchen are very uncomfortable. It was tough to sit and eat a meal in the kitchen.

As far as activities, we went to a game at Fenway, Whale watching, the Freedom Trail, a visit to the USS Constitution, and a trip to Salem. We didn't have a car and depended on public transportation, all very easy and convenient to use. We bought the weekly Charlie Card so we didn't need money for each trip.

We would stay again on any return trip to Boston.

After our experience here, I can't imagine why anyone would pay hotel rates to stay in Boston.

Unit was clean and in good condition, and Swank's automated systems worked well.

We stayed with my parents, who rented a car. There was almost always parking right in front of the unit, and at other times we didn't have to go far. When my wife, kids, and I did our own thing, the walk to the T stop was pleasant and not too far.

For a quick bite, we highly recommend The Avenue Grille.

Two minor snafus were: Getting only one pack-and-play for our two babies for the first night (fixed the next day), and the heating/cooling system failing on the last couple days and perpetually blowing hot air. (With help from the manager over the phone, we were able to turn it off, but since it happened on a weekend they understandably weren't able to bring someone out to get the air conditioning working until after we left.) Both of those are the sorts of things that can be expected to make a VRBO stay somewhat different from a hotel stay, but neither had a meaningfully detrimental effect on our stay.

This is a comfortable apartment, within a 10 minutes’walk of the red subway line or a few minutes by bus, with a bus stop right in front of the building. Parking is very easy on the street and free. The apartment can nicely accommodate 6 people, with 3 large bedrooms, except that weirdly there are only 3 stools in the kitchen. Nice towels, clean rooms and a dishwasher made for a nice stay. There is a small grocery store a block away if you need milk or very basic supplies. Except for the restaurant next door which we did not try (lack of time), this is not an area with a lot of eateries.
It is a tad noisy with traffic and the landing lanes for planes, but these stop at night. A few more glasses and mugs would be a nice addition. I would recommend this apartment for a nice visit to Boston.

A lovely property, very spacious, close to the transit system to get into the city. Well decorated clean and tidy. however the bathroom ceiling has peeling paint on it. There is not enough stools in the kitchen for all of us to eat at the kitchen table. The traffic noise at night can be disturbing if you are not used to living in the city. The location we choose, so its hard to rate this, but the location was not to bad. The walk to the next subway was okay and the area where the appartment was, was clean, not to loud and totally good. The inside was clean and for us big enough. Great beds.
What we wish for the next time is, to have more towels maybe and more dishes in the kitchen. But for the three nights it was okay too.
The online check in and check out is a interesting idea and it was easy to use. We had no problems but I hope to get free support with a free telephone number when someone need assistance.
In all I can say that we will stay with Swank Properties again. Great company! Big thanks to you!

The apartment was very clean and well appointed, however, for six people, the living room area could have been a little bigger. There was not enough space for all six of us to sit in there, which we would've liked to in the evenings. Additionally, we had wished the kitchen table were a little bigger for our group. A couple of room fans would have been a wonderful amenity also. All in all, a good stay.

Spent a long weekend during the peak of the heat wave. Thank you for having air conditioning that works!

The apartment covered everything we needed -- clean sheets, clean towels, and a full kitchen -- and had plenty of space to let our family spread out. It's an older building, but everything inside that wasn't hidden by a wall had been updated.

The location was in a working class neighborhood in the middle of the city within walking distance (we didn't have to carry the 6 yr old) of 2 different subway stops. We ran into one panhandler during our stay, but it otherwise looked as if the residents really cared about their houses. People accustomed to a quiet suburban atmosphere may be put off by the urban noise that surrounds the place.

Our only issue is that we had difficulty finding parking on weekdays because of road construction. It wasn't clear if it was legal to leave our car in RESIDENT parking during the day so we had to search a bit to find general free parking.

The property was mostly as stated. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The living room and kitchen should have more seating. The living room did not accomodate the 5 adults in our party. 2 chairs and a corner piece of a sectional sofa did not suffice. The 2 stools in the kitchen was also a diassapointment.
The property description included "laundry detergent" as part of the amenities giving the impression there was laundry facilities. To our dismay, there was neither a washing machine, nor a dryer.
Other reviews noted the location as being in a bad neighborhood...we did not encounter any difficulties, even using public transportation later in the night.
Overall, a pleasant experience (with the few noted disapointments).

Visiting our daughter at BU, we thoroughly enjoyed a one week stay with our family of four + 2 grand-parents= 6, in this well-designed, spacious apartment. The apartment is really lovely, it's true, even more beautiful than the photos! Only minus, there is a considerable amount of street noise for two of the bedrooms. Otherwise, the impeccably comfortable beds and the loveliness of the apartment made up for this. The rate was a VERY good deal compared to the costs of hotels in Boston. We would recommend having a car (parking was never a problem and free!).

Apartment is a good size, very clean and a fully kitted out kitchen. close to an atm and dunkin doughnuts. 10 minute walk to transport station with $2.50 trains to central boston and a taxi was around $12 from apartment to long wharf.
Some parts of funiture were worn and could have done with text number on the instructions to check in and check out.
We were warned by many people about staying in Dorchester and South Boston but it seemed fine and we encountered no problems over our week long stay. Very friendly locals.

The condo was a wonderful alternative to staying in a hotel. We had 5 people and each person could technically have their own sleeping quarters. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels that lasted the entire week. We never ran out of hot water in the shower and there were days all 5 of us showered. It was very nice to have a full service kitchen, satellite cable TV and wifi access. The subway is within walking distance and there is a bus stop very near for easy access to the main city. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone traveling for an extended stay in the Boston area.

My family has stayed in Dorset for 3 nights during our vacation. The place certainly looks better than in the photos. It is very well maintained, very clean and has a lot of character in its furnishing. Generous amount towels given which was great. About 10 to 15 mins away, you can find some big shopping outlets, including a huge supermarket. The metro station is about 15 mins walk but there is a bus
directly outside the apartment that brings you to the Andrew Station. We took the bus a few times, waiting time around 15 mins to 25 mins. Overall, we had a great stay. Thank you, Lance.
